Following the huge success of ‘The Instrumental Versions’ Part 1, Pit Baumgartner, head of the group De-Phazz, decided to delve into the archives once again in search of hidden gems. The result is anything but second-rate! Surprisingly, the producer also noticed that in most of the tracks, the intricate studio work only comes into its own when the vocals are stripped away. In some cases, the songs take on a completely new mood.
The songs of The instrumental versions Part 2 are perfect to relax after a stressful day, having a good time with your friend, being in the hot tub or hanging at the shore of Playa Paraiso Beach at Cuba. Although the music seems shallow, it contains a deepness when listening closely to the arrangement or instruments. This is the core and strength of De-Phazz!
De-Phazz
Deutsche Ingenieurskunst wird seit jeher weltweit geschätzt. Sie ist innovativ, technisch ausgefuchst bis ins kleinste Detail und macht das Leben schöner. Attribute, die auch voll und ganz auf die 1997 in Heidelberg gegründete Band De-Phazz zutreffen. Die vom unermüdlichen Klangsammler und Sample-Architekten Pit Baumgartner (rechts) ins Leben gerufenen „Godfathers of Lounge" sind das verlässlichste und sympathischste deutsche Exportgut seit dem VW Käfer und die musikalisch charmanteste Erfindung seit der MP3 am Fraunhofer-Institut in Erlangen. Davon kann inzwischen die ganze Welt ein Lied singen – im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes. Neben Pit Baumgartner zählen außerdem Karl Frierson (links), Pat Appleton (mitte) zum Trio.
